Building Legacies League is a subsidiary club of Building Legacies, a local nonprofit in Columbia, SC. This organization engages sixth through eighth grade males in an empowering organization that fosters their creativity, self-esteem, academic skills, and enhance their character.  Not only do scholars participate in workshops which will assist in developing them into young men, they have access to male mentors in various careers throughout the community. Mentors are working with scholars from the time they enter the program until their high school graduation. There is no cost to participate in the League. During our sessions, we cover an array of topics such as:

• Health, Exercise, and Diet

• Parliamentary Procedures

• Self-Motivation

• Community Service (Making My Community Better Because I Serve)

• Organization Skills

• Public Speaking

• Test-taking Tips

• Conflict Resolution

Finally, scholars will be able to participate in learning excursions to further enhance their academic and cultural repertoire. They will have the opportunity to visit museums, colleges, businesses, historical landmarks and various cities. A visit to a theme park is also planned for students.
